Mindfulness at Coventry Cathedral

In 2013 The Flame Centre for Mindfulness, holistic health and wellbeing created the first mindfulness based event at the world famous Coventry Cathedral, it was titled Mindfulness at Coventry cathedral 2013, and its aim was to introduce right-mindfulness, mind-body medicine and its impact and transpersonal growth for those individuals who cultivated a continuous practice. The event was founded on mind-body medicine with evidence based research on the impact of mindfulness on depression, anxiety, stress and chronic pain.

The first event was facilitated through Pushy Sanghera, and led by one of the pioneers in mindfulness based health intervention, Dav Panesar, who introduced right-mindfulness in relationship to mind-body science and mind-body science. The event attracted just over 300 people.

2014, saw the second annual event, Mindfulness and Self-compassion at Coventry Cathedral 2014, with four live case studies, expert speaker Edwardo Pitchon, psychotherapist, who spoke about self-compassion based intervention on healing emotional trauma and Dav Panesar, introduced the combination of mindfulness and self compassion in developing and improving self-image, self-worth and self-esteem. The event attracted just over 500 people.

2015 introduced Mindfulness and Neuroscience at Coventry Cathedral 2015, with four live case studies, expert speakers, Dr Amy Bilderbeck DPhil Experimental Psychology - Post Doctoral Researcher Oxford University, who spoke about the impact of mindfulness on brain plasticity and neuro-imaging. Dav Panesar, who spoke about the role of personal ethic in mental health, cultivating awareness through mindfulness to transform unhealthy states such as anger, fear, depression and stress. The event attracted just over 750 people.

2016 brought Mindfulness and Personal transformation at Coventry Cathedral 2016, with four live case studies, expert speakers, Dr Miguel Frias, Reader in Cognitive and Biological Psychology and Lead for Brain, Belief & Behaviour-Coventry University and author of the "Buddha Pill". Dr Frais spoke about the contra-indications associated with the current version of mindfulness therapy. Dav Panesar, spoke about the contra-indication and growth indicators associated with mindfulness, the difference between "McMindfulness" (the fast food version of mindfulness) as opposed to right-mindfulness that is accompanied by teachers who have at least 10 plus years of personal practice, with direct verifiable linage and applied wisdom based on correct-worldview, nature of the mind and existence. The event attracted just over 800 people.

2017 is set to bring Mindfulness and Spiritual Intelligence at Coventry Cathedral 2017, with 4 case studies, including a case study based on the Phd thesis, impact of mindfulness and yoga on epigentics. The expert speaker, Brian Les Lancaster Professor Emeritus of Transpersonal Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University, UK and an Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for Jewish Studies at Manchester University, UK. He is a past Chair of the Transpersonal Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society, and currently President of the International Transpersonal Association. The event attracted just over 950 people.
