Minecraft Championship (also known as MC Championship, MC Championship #, and MCC), is a minecraft tournament organized by Smajor1995 and The Noxcrew, in which ten teams of four compete in a series of eight minigames decided by the participants. Many different youtubers and streamers, such as Dream and CaptainSparklez, compete in it.

So far, there have been 13 normal events (with a 14th normal event scheduled/planned for early 2021) and one special event hosted with the Yogscast. The events have no predetermined schedule, but it occurs about monthly.[1]

Beginning Of MC Championship (September 2, 2019-February 1, 2020)[edit]

Shortly after the events of Minecraft Monday Week 11, Smajor1995 (Dangthatsalongname) announced that he won't be returning to any future Minecraft Mondays due to him wanting to set up his own event. he recruited IHasCupquake as a second organizer and the two (along with The Noxcrew) organized a Minecraft Tournament within just 3-12 days of building/planning. They called the event Minecraft Championship, in which the name was based of the Minecraft Monday name. The first event took place on November 17, 2019. the teams in the first ever Minecraft Championship were the Red Rabbits (Smajor1995, SmallishBeans, LDShadowLady, and YammyXOX), Aqua Horses (DethridgeCraft, IJevin, Wolv21, CaptainPuffy), Lime Llamas (FlorianFunke, Vikkstar123, PeteZahHutt, Rafessor), Yellow Chickens (JackSucksAtLife, WilburSoot, Ph1LzA, Ryguyrocky), Orange Ocelots (IHasCupquake, Joey Graceffa, CaptainSparklez, Strawburry17), Cyan Creepers (InTheLittleWood, NettyPlays, SolidarityGaming, MiniMuka), Blue Bats (JamesTurner, KryticZeuzMC, Vixella, DrGluon), Green Guardians (Quig, HBomb94, BBPaws, ShubbleYT), and Pink Parrots (JCTheCaster, TheEret, ScotGriswold, Jameskii). The winning team was the Purple Pandas after a final duel called Dodgebolt happened to determine the winner of the tournament.

Popularity Of MC Championship (February 2, 2020-December 13, 2020)[edit]

After A 3 Month Break (Due To Christmas), MC Championship Returned on 9 February 2020 (with a number of new competitors being introduced to the tournament). This MC Championship gained a lot of Popularity and views and the tournament eventually became one of the biggest Minecraft Tournament Events of all time. Further MC Championship Tournaments (MC Championships 3-13) were announced in the following months. Before the MC Championship Events takes place, each team is announced via the tournament's twitter account.[2][3] The Noxcrew also often does Admin Streams of each MC Championship so that way they can people can watch the event from their perspective. MCC10 also starred fans of the tournament for the first time in MC Championship history.[4]

Hiatus (December 13, 2020-present)[edit]

After MC Championship 13 (Which was held on 12 December 2020), The Noxcrew announced a indefinite Hiatus from hosting MC Championships via a YouTube video, but said they would return the next year with a another tournament season.[5]

In Popular Culture[edit]

  • In January 2021, It was revealed that TheColeMan_05 and ISTillXM were working on a video game based on MC Championship that is currently expected to be released sometime between 2021 and 2023. The game will be available for PC, Mac, N64, N3DS, and PS6.
    • It has been confirmed that the winning MC Championship Teams will be used for the video game, with each winning team of every MC Championship being featured as the main playable teams in the video game.
