2019: Dualtron Spider[edit]
In 2019, there was an increase in the number of electric scooter accidents. Thus, more electric scooter regulations were set in place in different countries. July 9, 2019, a Singaporean rider took a video of himself going at 150km/h on his Dualtron Ultra along Tanah Merah Coast Road.[7] At that time, scooters sold in Singapore have to comply with a strict set of regulations; maximum speed of 25 km/h, must not exceed 70 cm in width & must not weigh more than 20 kg.[8] That video was shared all over Facebook in Singapore and now most Dualtron scooters cannot be sold in Singapore. Minimotors created Dualtron Spider, a smaller electric scooter that can meet the regulations set by most countries.[9]

The development of Dualtron started in Spring 2014 with a goal in mind to develop the world's first all wheel drive off-road scooter. Shortly after, a task force was created to select the materials (strong and light) to construct the eScooter. Many different materials were tested to ensure maximum stability and driving comfort, especially when driving in extreme conditions. Development of the first Dualtron lasted 1 year and 6 months.

Dualtron has also formed distributor partnerships in countries such as France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the United States of America.[2] Though majority of the reviews for Dualtron have been positive, many users have commented on the high prices and high maintenance cost.[11]
