The Ministry of Information and Tourism was one of the ministries of the Iranian government, which according to the "Law on the Establishment of the Ministry of Information and Tourism" "in order to supervise and direct matters related to the means of mass communication in order to secure national interests and make the country's developments and civilization known to the world and disseminate and Consolidating the foundations of national values in political, economic, social and cultural affairs and raising the level of public knowledge and insight and preparing the Iranian society to accept more individual and collective responsibilities as well as the development of the tourism industry.[1] The Directorate General of Publications and Advertising was created to carry out advertising affairs, which was renamed to the Ministry of Information on March 17, 1964, and all the duties and powers of the Directorate General of Publications and Radio were transferred to it. In 1967, Iran's National Television Organization affiliated with the Ministry of Information was established, and in 1971, this organization was dissolved and the National Iranian Radio and Television Organization was established under the Ministry of Information.
