Miquido is a software development, product design and IT consultancy company founded in 2011. Headquartered in Kraków, Poland, Miquido operates worldwide, supporting businesses of every type, from startups to world-renowned corporations. The company provides their clients with management consulting, product strategy, market analysis, software design & development and product scaling.

Miquido was an early adopter of Google’s Flutter Alpha.[1] [2]. The company was noted by Google and featured during Google I/O in May 2018 and Flutter Live 2018 [3][4][5]. The same year, Miquido was awarded the title of Android Certified Agency by Google [6]. A year after that (2019), it joined the exclusive group of Actions on Google Experts [7].

In 2020, Miquido was distinguished as a member of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network and became an AWS Select Consulting Partner [8].

The company was recognized by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 2016 as the fastest growing mobile development company in CEE [9][10][11].

Between 2011 and 2021, Miquido grew from 3 to over 200 employees with no external funding or investors. The company raised their yearly revenue five-fold (6,6M - 35M) between 2016-2020 [12].

Company’s history

Early years (2011-2013)

Although officially registered in 2010 by its 3 founders (Krzysztof Kogutkiewicz, Radosław Holewa, Krzysztof Biga)[13], Miquido started its business activity in 2011. At first, they set off as a product company, offering their live scoring application to sport clubs e.g Skra Bełchatów, Tauron Basket League, Delecta Bydgoszcz and ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle [14]. After verifying their initial idea, Miquido decided to pivot and adjust their business to the needs of a changing market. In those days, the industry of app development was facing a booming demand for mobile apps.

After turning to mobile services, Miquido finalised their contracts with Imagination Technologies [15], Play [16] and Skyscanner [17] (2012). It was a turning point for the company and a milestone for its further growth and development.

Further growth (2014-2019)

Mobile development

Between 2014-2016, the Miquido team focused on reaching the position of experts in mobile app development. This title was granted in 2016, when a solution developed by Miquido for Hellofresh was listed by Google in their “Best of 2016” ranking in a category of “Most Innovative App”[18][19]. By this time, the major field of Miquido’s activity covered mobile app development for either iOS or Android.

UX and UI Design

Since 2013, Miquido has also become gradually more recognised for design services. Their skills were rewarded two years in a row by Mobile Trends Awards (2016 [20], 2017[21]) and again in 2018, when Topline app developed and designed for Abbey Road Studios won UK App Awards 2018 in the category of Best UX and Design [22][23].

Web Development

While becoming specialised in mobile, Miquido also developed their web services team.

In 2016, Miquido developed a solution for Herbalife [24]. The development lasted 6 months. It was the first big-scale backend project developed from scratch by the company and handled payments from over 50 countries. The app was presented during the Extravaganza 2016 event in Prague.

In 2018 Miquido developed [25] a communication tool for health professionals - Pando Health (formerly Forward Health)[26]. The solution has been officially approved by NHS Digital & listed in the NHS Apps Library [27] in 2020.

In 2020, Miquido officially became an AWS Select Consulting Partner.[8]

Recent years (2020-2021)

The recent activity of Miquido focuses mainly on mobile development, web development and Artificial Intelligence [28].

Artificial Intelligence

In 2018 and 2019 [29] [30] Nextbank, an AI-based Fintech solution developed by Miquido was a Finalist at the Singapore FinTech Festival. It was also the 2nd place winner in the category of ‘ASEAN Fintech’ in 2020 [31].

In 2019, Miquido developed [32] their own AI application - Revolt. It is a comprehensive app analytics tool developed to get real-data insights for Miquido’s business advisory services [33].

In the same year (2019), Miquido developed the first insurance application for Google Assistant in Poland [34][35]. The Voice Assistant created for PZU [36] supports the mobile purchase of travel policies.

In 2019, Miquido joined the group of Actions on Google Experts [37].

Main fields of services

Software development

Miquido takes care of web and mobile development (backend and frontend) [38]. The team is experienced in a variety of technologies, from Kotlin, Java and Swift, through Angular, Vue.js, React, Node.js to Golang [38]. It was titled World’s top Flutter development company in 2019, 2020, and 2021 [39].

Product Design

The design team at Miquido provides mobile and web design. They take care of iterative prototyping and user validation. They are also responsible for usability testing and creating User Interface.

Artificial Intelligence

Miquido specialises in providing AI and Machine Learning solutions [40]. The company’s services span from Data Science [41] through Computer Vision [42] to Voice Assistants, Chatbots [43] and more.

Business Advisory and Management Consulting

The team of Miquido advises businesses on their product strategies. They draw recommendations for business goals and best-fitting technical and UX solutions. Miquido carries out competitive analyses and provides a detailed roadmap for further product development [44].

Industries of particular interest

The company’s portfolio [45] demonstrates Miquido’s experience in a wide range of projects. At the same time, it puts particular focus and specialises in delivering projects for the healthcare [46], fintech [47], entertainment [48] and e-commerce [49] industries.

Events and community

Since 2013, Miquido has organised a yearly event called Mobiconf [50] - a conference gathering developers, designers and managers. While the first edition was focused mainly on the topics of iOS and Android mobile development, recent editions focus also on design, project management and team leadership.

Miquido was also the organiser of GoGoConf [51] - a Kraków-based Golang conference that took place in 2018 and 2019.

In 2018, the company was the official partner of Abbey Road Red 1st Hackathon [52] [53].

Also in 2018, Miquido organised the first edition of Halo Design, a series of design meetups that is still held.

Miquido is the organiser of AI Waves, webinars focused on applying AI in business.

The first edition of the event took place in September 2020 [54] and the second edition in March 2021 [55]

Products

Miquido is the inventor of Revolt. The app is a data-analytics tool developed to facilitate Miquido’s business advisory services with real data.[33]

In 2018, Miquido developed Quidlo Timesheets, a time-tracking tool for teamwork productivity[56][57]

Awards and rankings

Miquido was recognized by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 2016 as the fastest growing mobile development company in CEE in 2016 [9][10][11].

The company was awarded the titles of Android Certified Agency by Google (2018) and Actions on Google Experts (2019) [6].

In 2020, Miquido became an official AWS Select Consulting Partner.[8]

The company was listed as one of the Top Custom Software Development Companies by Softwareworld.co (2020) and recognised as a Top Mobile App Development Company by Itfirms.co (2020) [58].

In May 2021, Miquido was rated on the 1st place of Clutch ranking in four categories: Android, Flutter, Golang and React Native Development (2021). The same ranking placed Miquido in leading positions for Machine Learning services, Mobile Development, Javascript, Web and iOS development (2021) [59][60][61].

Three years in a row (2019,2020,2021[62]), Miquido has been listed as Flutter Top App Development Companies.
