MIRA BEAUTY is an American e-commerce company based in San Francisco, California, US. It was co-founded by Stanford programmers Jay Hack and Brandon Garcia in 2017. The company initially launched as the world's first search engine for beauty and later expanded to product recommendation, reviews and online shopping.[1][2][3][4][5]

History[edit]

MIRA BEAUTY was co-founded in 2017 by Stanford programmers Jay Hack and Brandon Garcia in San Francisco, California.[6][7][8][9] MIRA BEAUTY's software has been recognized as a notable artificial intelligence innovation in beauty and skincare.[10][11][12][13] In October 2019, the company launched an app and website in beta.[14][15][16][17] The domain mirabeauty.com translates over 10 millions of product pages, reviews, photos and videos.[18][19][20][21] MIRA BEAUTY has been referred to as "the google of beauty" as well as "beauty's universal catalogue."[22][23][24][25] The seed stage company is backed by Unilever Ventures, 14W, Founders Fund, e.ventures and Great Oaks Venture Capital.[26][27][28][29] In March 2020, MIRA BEAUTY also launched an emergency relief fund to provide financial support to makeup artists, Sephora advisors, as well as freelance beauty professionals and business owners being furloughed or forced into unemployment.[30][31][32][33]
