History

1989-1999

Miratech was founded in 1989 by a team of scientists at the V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics.[11]

In 1989, the company started their first international project with Swiss-based Lynx Software Research AG (NS Soft subsidiary), creating a joint venture, Miratech, in 1991.[12] During the partnership years, NS Soft changed its name to Miracle, named after their product, an extended Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system called “Miracle”.[13] In November 1999, Miracle was listed on the SWX (now SIX Swiss Exchange) New Market, following an initial public offering of 1,000,000 shares at 200 CHF.[14][15] One year later, the appreciation in the shares reached 350%.

The company name “Miratech” is a combination of two words: “miracle”, which is the name of the above-mentioned ERP product, and “technologies”. In 1998, Miratech entered the US market with IT outsourcing services, gaining Dakota Imaging, Inc. (now part of Change Healthcare) as their first US-based client.[16]

2000-2010

In 2000, Miratech entered into a strategic development partnership with Genesys, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent at the time.[17] Genesys Inc. is now a market leader in omnichannel customer experience and contact center solutions; the company remains one of Miratech’s key clients.

Miratech started with Genesys software development and testing. In 2002, the company also began to provide technical support to Genesys customers, and then launched Genesys Professional Services in 2006.[18]

In 2006, Miratech entered into a partnership with IBM.[19]

In 2007, the company was acquired by EDB Business Partner (later EDB ErgoGroup ASA and now Evry), a large Nordic systems integrator, which at the time was majorly-owned by Telenor.[20] Miratech established a Norwegian legal entity, Miratech AS.[21] The company’s official headquarters was moved to Stockholm, Sweden.[22]

2011-present

In 2011, the company facilitated a management buyout of 100% of the share capital from EDB ErgoGroup and went private. Currently, Miratech management owns the company.[23]

In 2012, Miratech established Miratech AG in Switzerland.[24] In 2017, Miratech became a partner in web and mobile application development for Abraxas Informatik AG, an information and telecommunication technology service provider.[25]

In 2012, Miratech introduced a delivery and governance model branded Managed Competence Center (MCC).

MCC supplies the competence required by customers through various delivery models depending on the business case, including fulfilling temporary and permanent staffing needs of other companies.[26] In 2015, Managed Competence Center received a registered trademark.[27]

In 2013, the company established US headquarters in Washington, D.C., and opened an R&D center in Warsaw, Poland.[28] In 2017, the company’s headquarters relocated to New York City.[29] Miratech Inc. delivers services to a number of US-based clients, including Winrock Internatonal, one of the Winthrop Rockefeller Charitable Trusts, and Allied World, an insurance provider, among many others.

In 2013, Miratech gained Lindorff, a leading Nordic debt collection company, as a client. Later, in 2015, Lindorff and Miratech won the European IT Outsourcing Project of the Year award from the European Outsourcing Association (EOA).[30]

In 2014, Miratech expanded into Slovakia, with a new R&D center in Košice.[31]

In 2015, Miratech opened an office in Tel Aviv, thus establishing operations in Israel.[32] The company provided Genesys Professional Services to Bezeq, a telecommunications service provider, and to an insurance company Migdal.[33]

Miratech announced its R&D4Equity solution in 2015, which offers startups R&D services for a combination of cash and equity. The first R&D4Equity client was Cutting Edge Surgical Inc., an American digital networking platform for medical device companies, established by a neurosurgeon J. Nozipo Maraire.[34][35]

In 2016, Miratech opened Miratech Technology Group SL in Spain, with operations in Madrid and Sevilla.[36] Turn-Key IT solution delivered by Miratech to their Spanish client Axactor has grown into a long-term, strategic relationship.[37]

The company has corporate partnerships with Genesys (Premium Partner in 2004), IBM (2006), Oracle (2009) and Avaya (2010) among many others[38][39] In 2017, Miratech became a Genesys Service Partner, and in 2018 achieved Genesys Value Added Reseller (VAR) status.[40] Miratech is also a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner.[41]

Technology Nation Kids

Together with Miratech Group’s partner BrainBasket Foundation, a non-profit IT education company, Miratech has launched Technology Nation Kids, a free IT education program for children.[49] The company is determined to contribute to the overall positive change in IT education through launching an alternative educational model for the schoolchildren. Making IT more accessible to schoolchildren can help them develop a deeper analytical thinking process, and provide important tech skills and an increased engagement with tech. The education partner in this project is Coding Academy, a non-profit organization comprised of IT volunteers who help teach children about programming using the visual language Scratch and HTML/CSS.[50]

IT Coverage Across All Locations

In 2017, Miratech Group launched a program partnering with Astarta-Kyiv, a public agri-industrial holding company, as well as BrainBasket Foundation, that is bringing a pilot educational project for children and adults in small rural areas enabling residents of these towns to obtain basic IT/computer skills.[51]

The course organizers created the program to allow children to develop deeper analytical thinking skills, initiate interest in new technologies and instill the desire to pursue IT education in the future. For the adults the program is designed to help them better tackle their everyday computer needs and develop their basic IT skills to explore new, more varied employment opportunities.
