Misfits of Film, LLC[1] is an independent American film company based out of Oklahoma. The company was founded in 2013 by Director Matt Jenkins. Misfits of Film has produced two feature-length films as well as one short. Their latest feature-length production "Veda" (2015),[2] is set to premiere at the Oklahoma Trail Dance Film Festival January 29 and 30 of 2016 in Duncan, Oklahoma.[3] "With All the News That's Fit to Wear" (2015)[4] was also screened at Trail Dance Film Festival in the 2015 run.[5] "With All the News That's Fit to Wear" (2015) was also screened at the 20th anniversary of The Indie Gathering International Film Festival.[6]

Overview[edit]

Matt Jenkins[7][8] is a well known, award winning[9][10] director/producer in Southwest Oklahoma for films like "The Last Dive" (2006),[11][12] "Maximum Credibility (2009)"[13] and "Beaches, Buns and Bikinis" (2010), starring Ron Jeremy.[4] After writing and producing "Secret of Sarah Pennington" (2013)[14] under another production company, Jenkins went on to pen another script, titled "Where's Dookie Cannata?" (2014). This film was based on Jenkin's own original short film "Where's Dookie Cannata?" (2008).[15] "Where's Dookie Cannata?" (2014) isn't considered a remake since the productions barely hold enough similarities.

Misfits of Film was constructed to self produce and distribute the 2014 version of "Where's Dookie Cannata?". Filming "Where's Dookie Cannata?" was completed in less than 8 months in Houston, Texas. "Where's Dookie Cannata?" was featured in the 2014 December issue of Houston's local C47 magazine.[16] In 2014, Jenkin's company went on to produce a short film, "With All the News That's Fit to Wear" (2014) starring KSWO's[17] own Sylvia Corkill. Sylvia Corkill reprises her role as Daisy, a reporter from "Beaches, Buns and Bikinis" (2010).[18] While the short began to pick up traction at film festivals, Matt Jenkins was penning another feature-length script to be shot in Houston, Texas called "Veda" (2015). After partnering up with 6 AM Films,[19] principle photography began in January 2015. Utilizing a couple of the same actors and the producer from "Where's Dookie Cannata" (2014), "Veda" (2015)[2] went on to win a spot at the 2016 official selection of Trail Dance's 10th Annual Film Festival in Duncan, Oklahoma.[20] Another feature film under the working title of "Dead Orchids" written by Christopher Clark (Producer from Misfit's own "Where's Dookie Cannata?" and "Veda")[21] is set to be produced in 2016 in association with Misfits of Film, LLC.

Pre-production has already began for "Dead Orchids". Rumored cast includes Ziggy Cristopher[15] and Gilbert Garza,[22] also from previous Misfits of Film movies.
