The Miss World Nepal Pageant for 1997 was held in Kathmandu.
Jharana Bajracharya was crowned Miss World Nepal 1997 on October 10, 1997 in Kathmandu. Jharana represented Nepal in Miss World 1997. Meenakshi Vandhana Sharma and Chandani Shrestha won the titles of 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up respectively. The competition was held by The Hidden Treasure. In 1998, Miss World Nepal was soon under Kathmandu Jaycees who were the organisation heading the Miss Nepal whose winner was to head to Miss Asia Pacific. But they changed that the winner would soon head to Miss World and the 1st runner up would head to Miss Asia Pacific respectively. The 1st runner up stopped heading to Miss Asia Pacific in 2004 and was soon redirected to go to Miss Earth in 2005.
