Mister Spex GmbH, is a German optician chain that focuses mainly on online sales. The company was founded in Berlin in 2007 and operates in ten countries. The company is one of the largest online Optician[2] in Europe.

The company offers eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and related care products through its own websites. In addition to Germany and (since 2014) Great Britain, Mister Spex is also active in Austria, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Sweden.[3]
The company operates according to a [[omnichannel]] approach. This concept involves cooperation's with 500 partner opticians in Germany. Mister Spex opened its first company-owned store in Berlin in 2016. Additional stores followed in the following year in Berlin-Steglitz, Oberhausen, Bremen, Bochum and Dortmund.[4] In 2018 and 2019, branches opened in the Main-Taunus-Zentrum in Sulzbach[5] in Erfurt, Münster, Essen, Frankfurt/Sulzbach and in Frankfurt/MyZeil.[6] and in Münster.[7]

The company was founded in December 2007 by Dirk Graber, Björn Sykora, Philipp Frenkel and Thilo Hardt with the aim of further developing online eyewear sales, which was hardly developed at the time, with a simple online purchasing model for eyewear.[8] Since 2011, Mister Spex has offered the opportunity to have eye tests and glasses adjustments carried out by local partner companies as part of its omnichannel concept, which in turn receive a share of the profit.[9]
The Company is a member of the Deutsche Börse Venture Network, which seeks to connect companies with potential investors.[10][11] Current investors are, according to its own information: Scottish Equity Partners, Goldman Sachs, Grazia Equity, XAnge, DN Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds.[12]
