Mitchell pattern
The "USMC Standard Pattern" (Unofficially referred to as the "Mitchell pattern") was a camouflage pattern used by the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War.[1]
History

The pattern was first seen in 1953 during a series of camouflage testing exercises in Panama.[2] The pattern was well received during the exercises, leading to its issue as a helmet cover.[3] The pattern would eventually become associated with the Vietnam War due to the heavy use of helmet covers with the pattern.
Because of its popularity, the pattern was printed on numerous commercial items. Some of which were purchased by soldiers and used in the war.
