Bacari-Bronze Constantine O'Garro[1] (born 20 October 2004), commonly known online as Mizzy, is a British internet personality, formerly on YouTube and TikTok, from each of which he was banned. He is known for his videos of pranks which range from simple skits to illegal activities such as trespassing. He has been the subject of legal action related to his conduct.
Family life
O'Garro was born at Homerton University Hospital on 20 October 2004,[2][better source needed][3] and grew up in the Stoke Newington area of London in Hackney,[4] before moving to Dartford, Kent,[5] and later back to Hackney, London.[6] He has two older half-sisters.[7]
Activities
O'Garro uses social media to share videos of pranks[8][9] and operated a TikTok account under the moniker Mizzy.[4] His accounts feature him disrupting shops,[6] entering vehicles and houses without permission,[4] and harassing people.[8]
O'Garro went viral during the summer of 2023 for after a series of pranks he posted on his TikTok channel that escalated into antisocial behaviour, culminating with O'Garro walking into a stranger's house, uninvited, and filming the exchange. The house was a family residence with young children, and the footage shows the parents repeatedly asking O'Garro to leave. The clip spread across social media, with after being shared on TikTok.[10]
In May 2022, O'Garro was given a community protection notice prohibiting him from trespassing on private property.[11] On 24 May 2023, he was fined £200 plus costs and surcharge (£365 in all) after admitting breaching that community protection order on 15 May and was issued with a two-year criminal behaviour order.[5][12]
The same day, O'Garro was interviewed by journalist Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored[13] who called him "an idiot"[4][14] and told him he was "a product of his upbringing". During the interview with Morgan, O'Garro blamed negative media attention on anti-black racism.[15] O'Garro said that he was peer-pressured into the viral prank and that he felt remorse for his actions (although in the video he does not show any remorse for his actions), explaining that he apologised to the family the next day, but chose not to broadcast his apology and turn it into content.[10]
Former politician and journalist Patrick O'Flynn praised O'Garro's entrepreneurial spirit, noting his ability to grab the media spotlight and convert it into social media fans.[15]
O'Garro's TikTok and YouTube accounts were terminated.[16][17]
On 26 May 2023, O'Garro was detained by police.[4] The next day he appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court, where he pled not guilty to three counts of breaching the criminal behaviour order and was remanded in custody.[18] On the 30th he was granted bail on condition he live at home with his mother in Hackney, and a trial date was set for 19 July.[19][17] The hearing on the 30th drew comment because it was held several hours before the advertised time, meaning that the press were not in attendance.[19]
O'Garro walked out of a 3 June 2023 interview on TalkTV after host Andre Walker shouted at him, accusing him of appearing "threatening",[20] before Walker threatened to remove O'Garro: "You glared at her in a threatening fashion. You do that again, I'll drag you out by the hair."[21]
In June 2023, researcher and writer Jason Okundaye, writing in The Guardian, attributed O'Garro's escalating behaviour to social media users' preference for more outrageous content.[22]
In July 2023, O'Garro was arrested at the Wireless Festival, accused of not complying with an order to disperse.[23]
