Initially launched on Facebook and Myspace in 2010, Mob Wars: La Cosa Nostra is now available to play on a variety of platforms including, iOS App Store, Google Play Store, Kano Play, Facebook, Armor Games, Kongregate Games, Amazon, and more[1].

The game is a freemium game, meaning it is free to play with options for in-game purchases to further progress players in the game[2].

Ever since Mafia Wars shut down on June 7, 2016[3] and Mob Wars shut down on August 1, 2018[4][5], Mob Wars: La Cosa Nostra is one of the last standing original mob-related text-based RPGs around.

Gameplay[edit]

Mob Wars: La Cosa Nostra is a simple text-based role playing game. The game revolves around fighting other players and bosses, completing jobs to earn cash and buying properties in cities all around the world to build an underground empire. Players create syndicates through recruiting other players or friends, or buying artificial members (Hired Mobsters). Additionally, players can engage in regular feature events such as the Battle Arena, Syndicate Wars, and Raid Bosses[6].

Actions within the game are defined and limited by Energy (jobs) or Stamina (fighting) levels. The amount of Energy or Stamina that a player has grows with every level achieved and is replenished over time[7]. Players can also instantly refill these through using boosts sent by Familia members or through purchasing in the Shop using Favor Points.
