Mobee
Mobee is an Indonesian digital asset and securities exchange platform headquartered in Jakarta. The company was founded in 2022 by Andrew Tjahyadikarta and Jeff Pradana, and is operated by PT CTXG Indonesia Berkarya.[1][2]
History
Mobee was launched in March 2023 after obtaining a license from Indonesia's Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI), the country's regulatory body overseeing digital asset trading at the time.[3]
The company closed a funding round led by Southeast Asian venture capital firm 1982 Ventures, with participation from strategic Indonesian family offices and individual investors.[4] According to unconfirmed regulatory filings reported by DealStreetAsia, the round raised approximately $6.7 million.[5]
Co-founder Andrew Tjahyadikarta previously served as a research analyst at JP Morgan before co-founding and serving as CEO of Kaja Group, a hospitality and lifestyle entertainment group in Southeast Asia. Co-founder Jeff Pradana has over 15 years of trading experience at global financial institutions including Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital.[3]
Business Focus
Unlike many retail-focused cryptocurrency exchanges in Indonesia, Mobee has positioned itself as targeting qualified investors, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional-grade clients.[6][5]
The platform offers products related to digital asset trading and wealth management aimed at active investors seeking passive income.[7]
In November 2024, Mobee obtained the Physical Crypto Asset Trader (Pedagang Fisik Aset Kripto/PFAK) license from BAPPEBTI, becoming the seventh exchange to receive full licensing under this framework at the time.[8] Mobee operates under license from Indonesia's Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI).[3] Cryptocurrency asset trading on the platform is facilitated by PT CTXG Indonesia Berkarya, which the company states is supervised by Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK).[9]
