Mohamed Abdulle Halane

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Mohamed Abdulle Halane was a Somali soldier who was martyred at the 1964 Ethiopian–Somali Border War.

Born and raised in Ceelbuur to a Duduble family, Halane would go on to join the Somali Army in June 1960. After 4 years, he participated in the war on Ethiopia, fighting in a northern outpost called Tog-Wajaale. Fatally wounded by enemy fire, his last words according to former President Siad Barre were "the enemy is not made from steel".

Halane has since been renamed after the former elite military training camp Forte Bottego and in many other events and tournaments.[1][2]
