Mohamed Hassan Mohamed
Mohamed Hassan Mohamed (Somali: Maxamed Xasan Maxamed; born 23 August 1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia) is a Somali athlete.[1]
Mohamed was one of five Somali athletes chosen to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. In April 2012, a bomb blast in Mogadishu killed the heads of Somalia's Olympic Committee and its soccer federation. Mohamed called it "a terrifying moment" and an "utterly a black day for Somali sports", but he insisted that the attack would not stop going to the Olympics.[2]
Mohamed went to London and competed in the 1500 m event.[3] Mohamed ran the 1500m heats in a time of 3 minutes 46:16 seconds, placing 13th in his heat.[4]
