Mohamed Hossam Ismail (born 1968, Giza, Egypt) is an Egyptian professor of journalism at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. His academic interests include international communication, media cultural studies, and media semiotics.
Early life and education
Ismail was born in Giza, Egypt, in 1968. He obtained his Ph.D. through a joint doctoral program between Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Cairo University in 2002.
Academic career
Dr. Ismail serves as a professor of journalism at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, where he teaches and supervises research in journalism and media studies. His scholarly work explores media representation, cultural studies, and semiotic analysis in both Arab and international media contexts.
