Dr. Mohammad Al-Azawi currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at Oman College of Management & Technology (OCMT). He received his MPhil and PhD in Computational Intelligence from De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. He obtained his BSc. and MSc. in Computer Engineering from Mustansiriyah and Baghdad Universities, Iraq respectively. Prior to his promotion as Asst. Dean, Al-Azawi worked as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Management Information Systems and the chair of Quality Assurance Committee at OCMT. He has over 16 years of teaching experience at various reputed universities and colleges in Iraq, Jordan and Oman. He has published many papers in leading journals like Multimedia Tools and Applications and Springer. Also, he has participated in many international Conferences such as IEEE GCCC 2014, IEEE IACC 2014 and IEEE ICCIC 2013. Apart from his current assignment, he acts as an expert reviewer and editor for many journals and conferences such as: Data in Brief, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, iJIM, iJAC, NCBIT2014 Conference, ACEEE Journal, OQAHE Academic Member and IEEE GCC 2016.
His research interests are mainly in applying human intelligence on machine vision and recognition. He also undertook research in computational intelligence and image identification.
