Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asaduzzaman Chowdhury ( born 07 May 1973) is a writer, columnist, educationist and researcher of Bangladesh. He is a professor of Mechanical Engineering [2] at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Gazipur.[3]

Early years[edit]

Background[edit]

M.A. Chowdhury was born on 07 May 1973 in Dinajpur. His father, Md. Moniruzzaman Chowdhury was a Lawyer and Social Worker engaged different social activities. His mother is Jahanara Begum. He spent his childhood in Dinajpur.

M.A. Chowdhury passed SSC exam from Dinajpur Zilla School [4] in 1988 and HSC exam from Dinajpur Government College [5]in 1990. He earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology,[6] Chittagong in 1998. M.A. Chowdhurywent to Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology,[7] Dhaka to obtain his M.Sc. Engineering Degree in 2002 and also earned PhD the degree in 2006.

He married Anisa Akther in 2006. She is a housewife. They have two children – son Ayan and daughter Afsheen.

After obtaining his B.Sc Engg(Mechanical) degree, Asaduzzaman joined as a Lecturer, Department of Mechanical Engineering, DUET,[2] Gazipur, from 2001 to 2003. Then Asaduzzaman awarded M.SC and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET),[7] Dhaka, Bangladesh on his research field is experimental investigation of the effect of vibration on friction between solids. He then joined as a Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, DUET, Gazipur,[2] from 2011 to till now.

Later he became the head of the Department of Industrial & Production Engineering. He also serves as Registrar (Additional Charge)[8] at DUET[3]. Asaduzzaman played a leading role as an Editorial Board Member of large number of International Reputed Journals. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asaduzzaman Chowdhury is a member of Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) (F-0979), American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) (M-102004155), Life Member of Physical Society of Bangladesh, Member of Bangabandhu Prokousoli Parisad, Member of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jot. He was awarded by Ajit Kumar Panja, Ex-Union Minister of State, Information and Broadcasting, India Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee Awards-1991, India.
