Mohammad Mehdi Zakeri (born 21 July 1979 in Yazd, Iran) is a retired Iranian judoka, international coach, and sports manager. He won a bronze medal at the 2001 Asian Senior Judo Championships in Mongolia.[1] Zakeri has over a decade of experience coaching Iran's national youth, junior, and senior judo teams. In 2008, he survived the Iran Aseman Airlines Flight 6895 crash near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.[2] In a 2022 interview, he recounted surviving the crash and later returning to Bishkek as head coach of the national team.[3]

Coaching career
After retiring from competition, Zakeri transitioned into coaching. He has coached Iran’s national judo teams in multiple age categories for over a decade.
