Mohammed Ashif (born 01 April 1976) is an Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Expertise[1], a multinational conglomerate industry service provider headquartered in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, and is a recipient of the Saudi Premium Residency.

Expertise employs a workforce of over 15,000 professionals and serves a variety of sectors such as petrochemicals, oil & gas, water treatment plants, steel, cement, manufacturing, construction and the power generation sector. [2]

Mohammed Ashif is also recognised for his humanitarian work. As an Executive Committee Member of the Saudi India Business Network, Mohammed Ashif plays a vital role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.[3]

Early Life and Education

Born and raised in Karnire village, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka. Mohammed Ashif's formative years were shaped by the values of coastal Karnataka's multicultural society. His education was at NITTE Mangalore. He holds a degree in Computer Science, which laid the foundation for his future business acumen. At the age of mid-twenties, he moved to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Career

Mohammed Ashif co-founded Expertise, headquartered in Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under him, the organisation has a diversified group of companies — Scorpion Arabia Co. Ltd., Ocean Wings, Expertise Valves Services LLC, Maaden Expertise Company LLC, and Standard Arabia LLC. Together, these entities have formed an industrial network with operations spanning Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, India, and Egypt.[4]

With over 20 years of experience, Mohammed Ashif has spearheaded Expertise into new markets and is involved in welfare work. Focused on increasing employment opportunities, he has pledged to create 50,000 jobs by 2030.[5] [6]

Philanthropy

Expertise is actively involved in philanthropic activities in various sectors, including education, youth empowerment, health, elderly care, and housing. Mohammed Ashif founded the Expertise Training Institute in Karnataka, India, which trains over 400 students annually through internationally accredited programs such as NEBOSH,[7] preparing them for careers in global industrial sectors.[7]

Ashif, through his family's Haji KS Sayeed Karnire Charitable Trust, oversaw the Karnire model village initiative, which comprises 50 modern, fully furnished houses with modern amenities constructed for families in need in Mangalore, Karnataka.[8]

Ashif stepped in during the coronavirus pandemic and organised chartered flights to send home 2,500 of its stranded employees, coordinating with the Indian government for their rehabilitation. The Indian Embassy recognised this as "one of the largest private citizen repatriation exercises in history."[9]
