Mohammed Nawaz (born 6 March 1970) is a Kuwaiti cricketer. He made his official debut for the Kuwaiti national side at the 2000 ACC trophy.[1]
Kuwaiti career
He is a right-handed batsman who occasionally bowls right-arm off spin. Nawaz started his cricket career with the Salmiya Cricketers in 1993. He captained Salmiya Cricketers for 5 consecutive years.[1] Nawaz was a part of the Kuwaiti national squad that toured Pakistan in 1999 and played 10 matches. Salmiya batsman Mohammed Nawaz became the first batsman to hit a century for the Kuwait national team, against the Rawalpindi District Cricket Association.[2] His score of 216 against Al Ahlia in the KBRC Trophy 50 over league is the highlight of his career, as well as the 188 against Al Sayer in the same season.[3] He was selected for the Kuwaiti national squad for the 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006 ACC Trophies.[1] Mohammed Nawaz finished the ACC Trophy 2000 with 185 runs and as Kuwait's top scorer.[4] He also participated in the Inter-Gulf Cup held in Dubai, representing Kuwait.[5]
