Mona Kakavand (Persian: مونا کاکاوند‎, also Romanized as "Monā Kākāvand", Persian pronunciation: [moˈnɒː kɒːkɒːˈvænd]; born 8 July, 1984) is an Iranian karateka, who competes in the kumite -61 kg division. She was a member of the Iranian karate national team in the years 2002 to 2005. the winner of the bronze medal of the 2005 Karate Competitions in Rome, Italy and the committee’s silver medal, and the holder of the 4th Dan black belt. Life and career[edit]

Mona Kakavand was born in 1984 in Tehran. Her father, Nasrollah Kakavand, is a master of karate and owns the black belt, 8th Dan. Mona learned martial arts from her father as a child. She had been a member of the Iranian Karate National Team during 2002 to 2007, and has competed both nationally and globally but she has never success to beat her opponents. Mona Kakavand is currently a karate master and mentor.
