Mona Rae Miracle (born July 18, 1939) is an American author, daughter of Berniece Baker Miracle and niece of Marilyn Monroe.
Biography[edit]
Mona Rae Miracle was born on July 18, 1939 in Pineville, Kentucky. She is the only child of Paris Miracle and Berniece Baker Miracle, half-sister of Marilyn Monroe.[1][2] Miracle studied journalism, graduating at the University of Florida. She also earned a graduate degree from Nova Southeastern University and studied acting with Lee Strasberg.[3][4]
Throughout her life, Miracle worked as a teacher, librarian and retailing executive.[5] In 1990, her father Paris passed away.[6] Dedicated to him, My Sister Marilyn: A Memoir Of Marilyn Monroe was published in 1994.[7] Co-authored by her mother Berniece, the biography addresses Monroe's early years. It received positive reviews and remains the only authorised publication by Monroe's family.[8][9]
Miracle went on to write the novel Wesley's Gift and a set of short stories, Nuclear People.[10][11] Today, she is part of the Authors Guild and lives retired in Gainesville, Florida with her mother Berniece, who turned 100 in 2019.[12]
