G. Monty Brinson (born George Montgomery Hutchens Brinson; November 21, 1957 – January 24, 2016) was an American writer, producer, and professional poker player. He was best known as the first husband of Kim Richards.

Early life[edit]
George Montgomery Hutchens Brinson was born in Guilford County, North Carolina on November 21, 1957. He was the son of Robert Laurie Brinson Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Brinson. His siblings were Elizabeth, Sarah, Robert L III, and George M.[1]
Brinson's maternal grandfather, George Elijah Hutchens, was the founder of Food World; which he founded in 1917. His mother had served as the president and secretary of Food World Inc. Brinson was the heir to the supermarket franchise.[1]
Career[edit]
Brinson wrote and co-produced the 1990 film Escape, with his then-wife Kim Richards. The duo founded the production company Brinson-Richards Entertainment in 1989.[2]
Brinson was a professional poker player.[1]
Brinson made numerous guest appearances on the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between 2010 and 2015.[3]

Marriages and children[edit]
Brinson married actress Kim Richards at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills on July 27, 1985.[4] They had one daughter.[5] Their divorce was finalized in 1988. They divorced amicably,[6] remaining close friends.[7]
Brinson married the Playboy Playmate of July 1988 Terri Lynn Doss in 1991. They had two daughters. Their divorce was finalized in 1994.[8]
Death[edit]
Brinson died from lung cancer in a medical facility in Los Angeles, California on January 24, 2016. He was 58.[9][10] His cancer had been diagnosed in December 2014.[11] Brinson's private memorial service was held on January 28.[12]
Brinson was survived by his two sisters and brother, both his ex-wives and his three daughters.[12]
