Moses Aliro (born 9 February 1996) also known as Moses Okabo Aliro is a Ugandan professional footballer who plays for Uganda Revenue Authority as a midfielder and a forward on the Uganda National football team.[1]

Early life and education

Aliro was born is Dokolo district, in Northern Uganda. He attended Kibuli secondary school[2] and Bugema University where he pursued a bachelors degree in procurement and supply chain management.[3][4]

Football career

Aliro started his football career at KCCA soccer academy where he played from 2016 to 2017. He later joined Destiny academy and then moved to Doves All Stars FC in Arua before being signed by KCCA FC.[3] He played for Kibuli secondary school in the Copa Coca Cola League in 2017 where he was the top scorer with 12 goals.[2]

KCCA FC

Aliro started playing in the Uganda Premier League in 2020 as a fullback after signing a five year contract.[3] He played for KCCA FC in the 2020/2021 season in which he scored 1 goal in 23 matches.[5]

Wakiso Giants

In 2021, Aliro joined Wakiso Giants as a defender until 2023 to join URA SC as a free agent after signing a contract of two years.[6][1] While with Wakiso Giants, he played 48 matches scoring a total of 12 goals.[5]

Uganda Revenue Authority

In July 2023, Uganda Revenue Authority signed Aliro into the tax collector's family after signing a two year contract as a fullright back.[4][7] He became the first senior signing of the club after teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, John Innocent Kisolo, Amis Bwangani and Godfrey Sekibengo.[3] Since his signing, he has played 29 matches and has scored 5 goals.[5]

Uganda Cranes

Aliro joined the Uganda National football team and his debut was on the 18 January 2023.[5] He was part of the Uganda cranes team that participated in the 2023 CHAN tournament in Algeria.[4][5][1]
