Mother Bird (sculpture)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Mother Bird (also known as Momo) was a one-metre tall, google-eyed, silicone sculpture with small, bald, chicken-like body. It also has avian feet, beak-like mouth and human breasts. The idea of making the sculpture came from ubume (also called yokai). [1]

Creator[edit]

Keisuke Aiso, a Japanese artist who is owner of Link Factory (located in Tachikawa, western Tokyo, Japan) is the creator of the sculpture.[2][1]

History[edit]

Mother Bird was made in year 2016. After that, it was featured in an exhibition at Vanilla Gallery in Tokyo's high-end Ginza shopping district in 2016. The sculpture was kept in Aiso's studio for two years which is in Tachikawa, western Tokyo, Japan. The sculpture was destroyed in 2018 because its materials (silicone, oil paint) had decomposed. The creator of the sculpture says that he "sent it off to the dumpster".[1]
