MotorBeam is a nine-authored Indian automotive web-portal which publishes car and bike related news, reviews, and road test comparisons, and is updated every day. It also makes videos under sections such as acceleration test review, comparison review, individual car review, and drag races. MotorBeam was founded in May 2008 by car enthusiast Faisal Khan, who has an MBA in Finance from Symbiosis International University, along with his brother Javeid Khan. Faisal was featured in India Today's Aspire Magazine (January 2014) for MotorBeam in an article titled "10 entrepreneurs who have set up one of a kind companies." The portal is famous for its shootouts, where MotorBeam always selects one winner, at times resulting in disagreement from vehicle owners of a particular brand.[1]

As of January 2017, MotorBeam garnered 115000+ subscribers on YouTube with highly engaging car and bike reviews.[2]

Controversy

In November 2015, MotorBeam reported that Mahindra's Social Media Team had been indulging in Astroturfing, putting fake positive comments on MotorBeam about its products. After the news was published, MotorBeam's Chief Editor, Mr. Faisal Khan, commented that Mahindra had responded and had taken this very positively. The company said it was an eye-opener for them.[4]
