Motto by Hilton

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Motto by Hilton, or Motto, is a lifestyle hotel brand by Hilton, announced in October 2018.[1] The first property is expected to open in Q1 2020.[1], and among the first properties to open is the Motto by Hilton, Washington DC City Center. Motto is Hilton’s fifteenth brand[2]; as of October 2019, properties were under development in the United States, Europe and Latin America, in locations such as New York City, Lima, Copenhagen and Mexico City[3]

History[edit]

Prior to launching Motto in October 2018, Hilton conducted research surveying Next Gen travelers[1] on affordable ways to travel to urban destinations. Motto by Hilton is the only brand in the portfolio with micro-hotel rooms[2], allowing guests to spend the majority of their time in Motto’s activated lobby space. Motto is the first Hilton brand that is implementing the ability to book multiple linking rooms in advance[1], and will open all of its properties with Hilton’s Connected Room technology.[4]

Design and construction[edit]

The majority of Motto hotels will be new construction or adaptive reuse properties.[5] Hilton collaborated with the Toronto-based design firm, DesignAgency, to build out the first prototype rooms for Motto.[6] Every Motto hotel will have more standardized micro rooms (~160 square feet).[5] The lobby space, called the Motto Commons, will be bespoke to each location.[3]
