Movsum Mirzazada (born Mir-Movsum Mirzazade) is an Azerbaijani film and theatre actor known for roles in international arthouse cinema, notably Elmar Imanov’s feature End of Season (2019). The film premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and won the FIPRESCI Prize at IFFR.[1][2]
Career
Mirzazada portrayed Mahmud in Elmar Imanov's End of Season (Ende der Saison), a film that screened in IFFR’s Bright Future strand and received attention from European film critics.[1][3][4] The film toured festivals and was shown at venues such as the Barbican Centre in London, which hosted a ScreenTalk with the director.[5]
Earlier in his career Mirzazada appeared in the short film Torn (2014), which was selected for the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight (Quinzaine des Cinéastes).[6]
He has also appeared in other short films screened on the festival circuit, including Shanghai, Baku (2016).[7][8]
