Mowafa Househ

Mowafa Said Househ (موفق سعيد حوسة), B.Comm, M.Eng, PhD. (/ɱœɯæɜɑ ɦœʂəɥ/; born 7 December 1977) is a Palestinian-Canadian researcher, innovator, social entrepreneur, teacher, and author of health informatics in the Arab World and affiliated with King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, College of Public Health and Health Informatics.[1][2] His primary research interests are around the use of information and communication technologies to empower patients[3] and clinicians, specifically focusing on Social Media and Mobile Technologies in Healthcare in the promotion of public health practice and healthcare literacy.

Househ is also an adjunct associate professor[4] at the University of Victoria School of Health Information Science, Victoria, BC, Canada. Househ was a former consultant for the United Nations Development Program and the former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Health Informatics in Developing Countries. In 2015, Househ was a visiting Academic Researcher at the University of Oxford Nuffield Department of Medicine, Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health.
