Mr.Toast[edit]

Mr. Toast, also know as Irresponsibility, is a game created by Hasbro, created in 2015 after teaming with Indiegogo in their 2015 Hasbro's Next Great Game Challenge.[1]. The game is also classified as a Card game composing of cards but no board or pieces. The game requires 2-4 players in order to play and takes 10-20 minutes[2]

Rules[edit]

The game permits 5 different types of cards to play. The first type of card, the green card, gives points to the person who played the card according to the number on the card. The second card, the red card, can be used against the person played against. This card requires the person to play the equal amount of green card points to counteract and remove the red card. When a given player has a red card played against them, the player cannot play additional green cards for points and other players cannot use additional red cards against the player. The third type of card, the purple card, can be played alongside green cards to increase the value of a green card. The fourth card, the blue or gray card, has different actions that the person who plays the card can do that benefit the player or disadvantage other players. The final card, the yellow or "No Way!" card can undo the action of another players blue or "No Way!" card, even if it isn't the players turn.

The game starts with one player, the dealer, shuffling the deck and giving each player 5 cards from the top. One player starts first by grabbing 1 card from the top of the deck and playing doing one of the following actions:

  • Playing a green card for points
  • Playing a green card with a purple card for points
  • Playing a red card against a player
  • Playing a blue card and taking the according action

After a player does this, the next players do this. This action repeats until one player receives 15 points from all green and purple cards combined. When another player plays a blue or yellow card, any player can place a yellow card to undo the action of the card. After a blue or yellow card is placed, it must be put in the discard pile. When a player places a blue card pertaining to other players, the other players must do the action on the card, or, if available, use a yellow card to undo or negate the act.
