Muc-Off
Muc-Off is a bicycle and motorcycle accessories company located in Poole, Dorset, England.[1][2][3][4] It is well known for Punk Powder, which the company claims is the world’s first plastic-free bike cleaner.[2][3][4] Muc-Off was originally a product sold in 1994 under the company name X-Lite, founded in 1991 by Rex Trimnell, who was owner and chief designer.[5][6][7] Rex’s son Alex is CEO.[1] The X-Lite brand was discontinued in 2005 and later purchased by UK company Shedfire Ltd. in 2010.[8][9]
Muc-Off sells its own brand of bicycle and motorcycle products, including Nano Tech Bike Cleaner, MO-94 spray, Hydrodynamic Lube, Nano Tech Motorcycle Cleaner, Motorcycle Protectant, and Motorcycle All-Weather Chain Lube.[10][11] In September 2021, the company released Ludicrous AF, which it claims is “the world’s fastest chain lube.”[12]
In 2021, Muc-Off launched its charity Project Green, which is the company's stated commitment to reduce its overall plastic production by a minimum of 200 tons by the year 2023.[2][13][14][15] The company donates 10% from the sales of its antibacterial line to the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund through its Protect and Serve initiative.[3]
