Pascual Cantero (Murcia, 9th of December 1988) is a Spanish singer, composer and poet known artistically as Muerdo.

His first musical work, Flores entre el acero, was self-published in 2011. It reached a greater audience thanks to the help of singer-songwriter Luis Eduardo Aute.

In November of 2013 he presented his second album, Tocando tierra, recorded in Barcelona and produced by singer Amparo Sánchez, leader of Amparanoia, and published on independent label Kasba Music. In this second album participated artists such as Pedro Guerra or Lichis, presenting lyrics of "great force and depth of humanity, and social issues seasoned with Latin and folk rhythms but also urban and modern[1]"

On the 5th of December 2015 he brought forward his third album, Viento sur, in which he kept the mix of folk rhythms, combining them with urban genres such as hip-hop and rock.[2] In this album he performed with musicians such as Samuel Vidal, Lupita Ainá, Jordi Mestres, Daniel Tejedor, El Ninho Trompeta, Martin Bruhn, and collaborated with El Kanka and the Chilean Pascuala Ilabaca.

In 2018, with Warner Music Spain, he published La Mano En El Fuego, whose musical production was handled by Grammy award-winning Fernando Illán. The visual art was created by the prestigious illustrator Jorge Alderete, and the album also features the voices of Carlos Tarque, LaMari (Chambao) and Soge Culebra.

The album became a success that highlights the figure of Muerdo in Spain and Latin America, reaching several million views and listens on major platforms.

During 2018, Muerdo toured the main venues in Spain, managing to sell out on several occasions in reference spaces such as the Sala Apolo in Barcelona or the Joy Eslava in Madrid. He also embarked on his most ambitious tour of Latin America that year, with an undeniable success in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Colombia, also visiting Ecuador and Peru.

In 2018, he brought his live performances to the main festivals in the country, including Viña Rock, Arenal Sound, San San Festival, and other massive international events such as the Tribal Gathering in Panama.

In December of that year, he received the award for Best Album of the Year in the "Other Trends" category at the Music Awards of the Region of Murcia.

On March 22, he published his first book "La Primera Piedra" with the editorial Mueve Tu Lengua, a retrospective of his career through texts, images, and photographs that also includes the author's first unpublished poetry collection.

On January 17, 2020, he released a digital album of versions of his own songs with collaborations with numerous artists, such as Rozalén, Juanito Makandé, El Kanka or Guitarricadelafuente.[3]
