Mugshots Grill and Bar
Mugshots Grill and Bar is an American casual dining restaurant with a menu emphasis on Certified Angus Beef Hamburgers. The company was founded by Ron Savell and Chris McDonald in Hattiesburg, MS in 2004 and is currently owned and operated by Savell's company, Chers Restaurant Group, LLC.

The Mugshots Grill and Bar concept was dreamed up by Ron Savell and Chris McDonald while they bother were tending bar on Waikiki beach. They shared a dream of owning their own restaurant. In 2004, with the support of friends and family, they made their dream a reality.
Mugshots #1 opened in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on January 10, 2004, with Matt Yeatman and Ben Bryan being the first to eat a Mugshots burger. Savell and McDonald showed their gratitude by naming appetizers, burgers and menu items after family and friends and decorating the restaurant walls with pictures of customers traveling all over the world showing off their Mugshots memorabilia.
The idea that Mugshots Grill & Bar “would be a place all would be happy coming to for great food, good drinks, in a fun sporty atmosphere, at a great price” is what keeps our guests coming back for more!

Since 2004, Mugshots Grill and Bar has grown and expanded into multiple locations currently with 17 locations throughout Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Operations[edit]
With life and business taking the owners in different directions, they divided their company in 2008, each choosing defined areas for operations and development. In 2017 talks began about an acquisition to bring the company back together to ensure unity, quality, and consistency between all locations.
On December 22, 2017, Ron Savell acquired operations of all Mugshots Grill & Bar franchised locations under his company, Chers Restaurant Group, LLC, based in Hattiesburg, MS.
With this acquisition, Savell explains franchise owners will benefit from streamlined resources, such as training and marketing materials, company branding, vendor availability, and menu/recipe guidelines, therefore tightening their daily operations and strengthening their long-term success as restaurant owners.
The idea that Mugshots Grill & Bar “would be a place all would be happy coming to for great food and drinks, in a fun sporty atmosphere” has remained Savell’s commitment to his guests who have helped keep his dream alive. Upholding the integrity of that original concept, as well as the consistency guests expect and look forward to, original founder Ron Savell has acquired operations of all Mugshots Grill & Bar franchised locations under his company, Chers Restaurant Group, LLC based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi..[1]

Mugshots Grill and Bar has been honored to be recognized as having an award-winning burger for several years running. Recognitions include local, regional, and statewide awards. Most recent awards include Best of Mississippi, presented by Mississippi Magazine for "Best Burger 2018" [2], Best of the Pine Belt, presented by FestivalSouth for "Best Burger" 2018 <http://signaturemagazine.ms/content/and-winners-are>, and a Covey Award for "Best Burger on the Coast" 2018, presented by The Coast Observer [3]
