Mula Jusuf
Mula Jusuf[1] was one of the most powerful men in Serbia who commanded the janissaries. It was his palatial residence that Karađorđe usurped for himself when he drove Mula Jusuf and his janissaries out of Belgrade [2]. It was Karađorđe[3] who ordered Milenko Stojković and his army to go after the Dahije who, after leaving Belgrade, embarked on riverboats and found refuge on the island of Ada Kaleh, where a battle was fought and Dahije with their retinue of hundreds of janissaries were killed in retribution for the Slaughter of the Knezes.
