Introduction[edit]
Multan_Development_Authority is a government institute situated in Multan city of Punjab province of Pakistan. The aims of institute includes development projects of Multan city. It is responsible for the landscape, planning and making housing societies in Multan. No house or a society map is developed in Multan without permission of this institute. This institute is operating under the Government of Punjab.[1]
Established on October 22, 1976 under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, Multan Development Authority is a successor body of Multan Improvement Trust , which was established in 1944 under Punjab Town Improvement Act, 1922 during British Era in India. Multan City Improvement Trust was limited only towards residential and commercial schemes located in municipal boundaries, which was then called city area at that times. Responsibilities[edit]
Responsibilities of Multan development Authority or commonly known as MDA includes to evolve policies and programs relating to launch new housing schemes and for residential development of the city and important engineering projects. MDA has been launching a number of developmental projects especially in housing sector consisting of more than thousands of plots of various sizes and uses
