Multiply by Creador Foundation
Multiply is a free financial education initiative by Creador Foundation. Creador Foundation is the non-profit arm of the private equity firm Creador.[1] Multiply is aimed at simplifying personal finance and is designed to accompany Malaysians every step of the way through significant life milestones, from starting a job to planning for a family to retirement and everything in between.
The Mission
Multiply’s mission as a free platform is to share its content with as many Malaysians as possible to improve their financial wellbeing and enable them to lead more financially stable lives.[2] In addition to its platform, Multiply also works with other non-profit organisations and financial industry players that conduct social outreach programmes with underserved communities.
The Content
Multiply draws on evidence-based practices to offer personal finance content that is simple, useful, extensive, and most importantly, free. Multiply covers a range of personal finance topics such as planning & budgeting, saving & investing, tackling debt, buying a vehicle, buying a home, insurance and retirement planning in a fun and easy-to-follow style. Specifically, the content is delivered in the form of animated videos, blog posts, guides, calculators, infographics and quizzes. Each piece of content is carefully researched by the Multiply team, tested by focus groups and reviewed by industry experts. New content is uploaded weekly and available in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.[3]
The Launch
Multiply was launched to the public and press on 10 August 2020. Along with the launch, Multiply has created a financial personality quiz for Malaysians to find out just how good they are with their money. With the results, Malaysians can then get started on finding the how-tos and tools they need most on the Multiply website.[4] Users can access the “Where Are You on the Scale of Finance Newbie to Money Boss” quiz at: https://multiply.org.my
