Munich Machine was a Munich-based German disco band under the direction of producer Giorgio Moroder, which was active from 1976 to 1980. Also involved were the producers Pete Bellotte, Günther Moll and Gary Unwin as well as bassist Stefan Wissnet, guitarist Mats Björklund, and American singer Chris Bennett.[1][2]

Their biggest success was Get on the Funk Train from the album Munich Machine from 1977. The song placed in the top 50 of the UK charts and reached number 7 on the American Billboard Dance charts. With a cover version of the Procol Harum hit A Whiter Shade of Pale in 1978, they jumped into the British Top 50 and once again succeeded, in the Billboard Dance charts reaching number 22. The accompanying album of the same name placed in the US album charts, where it rose to number 190. The last chart success of this band was the single Party Light / Let Your Body Shine, a release from the album Body Shine, which reached number 33 on the US dance charts in 1979.[3]
