Muqthar Muhibb Noor (born as Muhammed Mukthar; also known as M.M Noor and Muhibb) is an Indian singer, musician, composer and lyricist from Kerala. He is noted as the first Afghan Rabab artist from Kerala.
Early life
He was born in Karipparamba, Mundambra, Areekode in Malappuram district, Kerala.
Career
Muqthar Muhibb Noor is known for introducing and popularizing the Afghan musical instrument Rabab in Kerala, where it is a rare instrument. His work was featured in Mathrubhumi daily on 25 May 2022 (Nilambur Edition, Page 05) titled "Rababil Muktharin Sangeethamazha".[1]
He is a singer and multi-talented artist - he plays Harmonium and performs Qawwali, and also works as a lyricist, music composer and keyboard programmer.
He received recognition from the India Book of Records for his song "Vella Libas", a song which compares death to a wedding.[2]
