Museum of Barbarism

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Museum of Barbarism, is a museum in Northern Cyprus in memory of Bloody Christmas.

On 25–26 December 1963, the family of Nihat İlhan was murdered by Greek Cypriots in Nicosia.[1]

Greek Cypriot irregulars forcibly entered the house of Doctor İlhan, who was a Major in the Turkish army and was on duty that night. The Doctor's wife, three children and a neighbour were killed by machine gun fire, and six neighbours were seriously injured. The house remains almost as it was found at that time.

Address

The Museum of Barbarism is quite a hike from the Old City, around 3km straight up Mehmet Akif Caddesi in the New City.
