Music You’re Missing is an artist interview-style podcast series created by Brendan Jeannetti in 2020. The podcast was formerly owned and distributed by Big Night Entertainment Group until November 2024, when it was announced the podcast would go independent. In January 2025, Jeannetti launched Music You’re Missing Consultancy, incorporating the podcast into a broader list of services offered.
Content
Music You’re Missing is considered a staple in the indie music scene, helping to reinvigorate the Boston music scene—a key part of Michelle Wu's campaign for Boston Mayor.[1]
In June 2024, Front of House Boston described Jeannetti's “aptitude for discovering talent in the music industry” as “unmistakable,” adding, “The success of the artists featured on Music You’re Missing is a testament to his keen understanding of the music industry and contemporary pop culture.”[2]
The podcast features interviews with artists and discussions with “some of the [music] industry’s most influential thought leaders.”[3] Through one-on-one conversations, Jeannetti and his guests explore the creative process of music production, the challenges of fame, and the current state of the music industry.
The podcast is known for spotlighting “up-and-coming artists who have not yet hit the mainstream,” with many guests going on to achieve mainstream success.[4] Notable artists featured on the podcast include Lawrence, Marc E. Bassy, Peach Pit, Hunter Hayes, and Blu DeTiger.
Reception and Awards
Music You’re Missing holds a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, with hundreds of positive reviews. In 2024, the podcast was nominated for Best Podcast/Radio Show at the Boston Music Awards.[5]
