Musicinfo is a Finnish limited company that distributes digital music to mainland China. Musicinfo provides artists and record labels with access to more than 50 of China’s largest digital streaming services, including QQ Music, KuGou, NetEase, and Qianqian Music (formerly known as Baidu Music).
History
The company was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Jyväskylä, Finland.[1] Musicinfo initially ran a multi-level search algorithm capable of analyzing and combining music metadata, and the company later became one of the largest music databases globally that aggregate music metadata forms.[2]
In late 2016, Musicinfo started a digital copyright distribution service to China to provide artists and record labels with instant and legal access to the major consumer markets in mainland China through four Chinese streaming services.[3]
In 2018, Musicinfo updated its distribution services to provide artists and record labels with access to more than 50 of China’s largest streaming services.[4]
