Musikprotokoll (own preferred way of spelling: musikprotokoll) is a festival platform for contemporary and experimental music.[1]. Founded by Emil Breisach in 1968, the festival is hosted annually by the Österreichischen Rundfunk (ORF) as part of Steirischen herbst. The performed works are broadcast on Radio Österreich 1. musikprotokoll is a kind of laboratory for new developments in music and covers a heterogeneous, contemporary range of genres: orchestral music, chamber music, improvisation, performance, sound installation. Many of the works are developed and produced especially for the festival.[2]
