The Myanmar Historical Research Journal (Burmese: မြန်မာသမိုင်းသုတေသနစာစောင်) is an academic journal covering the history of Myanmar. It is published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture's department of historical research and the National Library of Myanmar and the Myanmar Historical Commission.[1][2] First published in 1995, the Burmese language journal covers Burmese historical research and findings from independent Burmese scholars, local Burmese universities, foreign scholars, and government historical researchers.[2][1] The journal periodically publishes articles in English. Since its launch, the journal has provided a new platform for Burmese epigraphy studies.[3]
Prominent Burmese scholars, including Tun Aung Chain and Thaw Kaung, have contributed to the journal.[4] As of April 2023[update], according to WorldCat, at least 23 libraries possess holdings of the journal, including ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute and the Australian National University Library.[5][6][7]
