Myriam Mondragón Ceballos

Myriam Mondragón Ceballos was born on september the 5th of 1963 in Mexico city. She pursued her bachelor's degree in the School of Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias) at Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM), graduating in 1987 with a thesis in "Magnetic monopoles in Yang-Mills' theories".

In 1991, She obtained her PhD at Oxford University with a specialization in Theoretical Physics of Elemental Particles under the supervision of G.G. Ross. By the end of her doctoral studies, she was granted an scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Fundation to perform a postdoctoral study in Munich's Technical University (TUM) in collaboration with Professor H.P. Nilles. Afterwards, She performed a second postdoctoral study at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Heidelberg, in Germany, this time in collaboration with Professor M. Schmidt.

In 1996, se joined the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Institute for Physics from UNAM. At the moment she is leading researcher A and chief of the Department of Theoretical Physics, as well as level II researcher at the National System of Researchers (México).
