The N1 Hotel Group, run by the Nesbitt Group of Companies, is a Zimbabwean chain of hotels specialising in clean, affordable accommodation. Founded as an economy hotel chain, the N1 Hotel Group of Hotels aims to offer guests limited high-quality services at a reasonable price. Standard amenities are convenient and practical, catering to business travellers and short-term stays.
As of July 2022, the N1 Hotel franchise includes 4 hotels in Zimbabwe with 116 rooms in total. The brand's first location opened in 2005 with N1 Bulawayo. The N1 Hotel Group intends to target business travellers and offer no-frills, comfortable, clean, and affordable lodging for discerning guests on a budget.
History
Initially, the N1 Hotel chain started in 2005 with N1 Hotel Bulawayo on Joshua Nkomo Street, an economy hotel. The building was previously a block of bachelor flats that the N1 Hotel Group renovated to turn it into a profitable business. This high-quality N1 Hotel service busy business travellers and offers affordability and a top level of cleanliness.
With the success of the first hotel, expansion took place. In 2008/9 N1 Hotel Victoria Falls was created to service tourists and business travellers in this popular resort town. This property has 30 rooms plus a campsite and dormitory. In 2013/14 N1 Hotel Samora Machel was built,[1] offering 30 rooms along Samora Machel Avenue. The latest addition to the hotel chain was added in 2022 with N1 Hotel Rotten Row in Harare, also on Samora Machel Avenue, at the corner of Rotten Row, offering 32 rooms.
Typically, N1 Hotel buildings are carefully chosen and renovated to suit the business traveler and tend to have between 20 and 30 rooms, with a mix of suites and standard rooms. The N1 Hotels' locations are generally on main streets within each city, in high traffic areas, with good visibility, and have easy access to restaurants. These are two star hotel rating properties and locations.
