NBC Sports Live Extra is an web-based streaming television service operated by the NBC Sports Group that broadcast live events from the NBC television network, NBCSN, Golf Channel, and the company's regional networks (Comcast SportsNet). The application originally launched during the 2012 Summer Olympics, as NBC Olympics Live Extra, and later re-launched that summer under its present name. Much like with chief competitors ESPN and Fox Sports, the Live Extra app requires authentication from participating television providers in order to access live programming.

Because Verizon currently holds exclusive smartphone streaming rights to all live National Football League contests, NBC Sports Live Extra is only allowed to stream its NFL games via tablets, computers, and streaming media players (such as Roku and Apple TV).

Live Events[edit]

In additional to daily studio programs, such as The Dan Patrick Show and Pro Football Talk, NBC Sports Live Extra also streams the following live programming:

  • National Football League (Sunday Night Football, Wild Card playoff game, Divisional playoff game, and years that NBC carries the Super Bowl)
  • National Hockey League (including in-market regional telecasts from Comcast SportsNet)
  • Norte Dame Football
  • NASCAR
  • Premier Boxing Champions
  • Formula One racing
  • PGA Tour
  • IndyCar racing
  • International Soccer
  • AVP Volleyball
