NETIS Group is a private company based in Casablanca, Morocco, specializing in the construction, maintenance, and management of telecommunications and renewable energy infrastructure. History

NETIS was founded in 2009 in Côte d’Ivoire by Jean Farhat and Jean-Claude Figali. The company initially concentrated on telecommunication infrastructure projects in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Burkina Faso.[5][6] In 2018, Enko Capital, an investment firm, acquired a minority stake in NETIS Group.[7] A majority stake in NETIS Group was acquired in November 2023 by a consortium of investors, including Amethis, AfricInvest, Proparco (part of the AFD Group), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC, part of the World Bank Group). This transaction, reportedly valued at approximately US$80 million, was publicly announced on November 29, 2023.[8][9][10] The acquiring consortium stated its objective was to support NETIS' growth plan and contribute to digital inclusion across Africa by further developing its activities in the digital infrastructure sector.[11][12][13] As part of this deal, Enko Capital exited its investment in NETIS.[14] In October 2025, Alykhan Kassam was appointed Chief Executive Officer of NETIS Group. The co-founders, Jean Farhat and Jean-Claude Figali, transitioned to roles on the Board of Directors.[15][16]

Operations

NETIS provides services including the construction and maintenance of telecom sites, fibre-optic deployment, tower construction, integrated power solutions, and infrastructure inspection, often utilizing drones.[17][18] In countries like Ghana, NETIS Group has been noted by industry peers, such as IPT PowerTech, as active in the high-speed development and rollout of new telecommunications sites.[19][20] According to a 2020 interview with co-founder Jean Farhat in Capacity Media, NETIS emphasizes innovation and talent development to meet the evolving demands of the African telecom sector.[21]
