History[edit]
Elwood Richard, a chemist with a background in physical education and nutrition, founded NOW Foods in 1968 with the goal of providing affordable, high-quality natural health products to consumers.[1] The company focused on selling powdered supplements, but it expanded its product offerings. In 1988, the company moved its headquarters to a larger facility in Bloomingdale, Illinois, to accommodate its growing operations.[2]
NOW Foods has received numerous awards and certifications for its commitment to quality, including the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from the Natural Products Association.[3]
